COVID-19 and Sanitation Procedures
Amid the ongoing uncertainty of COVID-19, we have modified our cancellation policy to offer greater flexibility to all our clients. We hope this will alleviate any stress and hesitation you have about an upcoming appointment. If you need to reschedule for whatever reason, and especially if you are not feeling well, we understand and request for you to please contact us as soon as possible to reschedule. No penalties will be accrued for cancellations done four hours prior to appointment. Cancellation penalties will apply with the four hour mark.
New Booking Policies:
Due to COVID-19, we are temporarily limiting the number of daily appointments. The health and safety of our clients and staff is very important to us. If you are experiencing a fever, cough, or sore throat, please reschedule your appointment for when you are no longer symptomatic. If you have been to a COVID-19-impacted area or have been in close contact with a person infected with COVID-19, we ask that you please reschedule your appointment for 14 days past the date of contact.
Before, during, and post session we ask that you keep your face mask on above your nose and under your chin, for both your and our safety. If you come in without a mask or don’t have one, one will be offered for a small fee. If you refuse to wear a mask we will be UNABLE to provide service with exception of those with doctor’s notes with express directives against face masks because of medical conditions.
For everyone’s safety, hand sanitizer will be provided for all. After every client the room (including the massage table, light switches, door handles, equipment, etc) is cleaned with disinfectant and linens are washed under sanitary methods. We recommend clients wash their hands with soap and water directly before and after their session. Employees will wash their hands rigorously throughout the day as they are in contact with each client.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Here are most commonly asked questions about COVID-19 procedures.
Am I at risk of catching COVID-19 from a massage?
Following effective procedures and guidelines recommended by the CDC, massage is not any less safe than doing anything else. There is an inherent risk when you occupy the space with another person and as massage puts you in direct contact with one of our staff. We asked that you remain patient as we clean and sanitize between you and the client before you for our safety and your own. We are doing everything we can to mitigate the risk.
Will I be required to wear a face mask during my session?
Yes, Elysium is requiring that all clients, and employees, wear face masks before, during and after every session. The only allowance for face masks for clients is when they are face down on the massage table. Everywhere else is requiring face masks at all times. In the event of a doctor’s note saying you CAN NOT wear a face mask, you will not be required to.
What should I do if I'm feeling sick?
If you are feeling sick, even if it is NOT COVID, we please ask that you not come in and request you to reschedule your appointment for 14 day after the symptoms end. No penalties will occured if you reschedule at least four hours in advance of your initial appointment.
What is the Massage Therapist doing to mitigate the risks of COVID and other sicknesses?
Your therapist believes in the importance of taking care of the client in every way possible. This means washing hands and any part of the arm used to apply pressure during the session, including forearm and elbow. Also, included in sanitizing anything touched by clients or themselves between each session. Next, wearing a face mask at all times. Last, changing their outer shirt between clients to reduce exposure from one client to another.
What should I do if my Massage Therapist coughs, has the sniffles or sneezes?
Rest assured that no one comes to work sick but allergies do happen. We recognize and check all employee’s health before they work.
That being said, we ask for your understanding if your massage therapist cancels your appointment due to them being sick as we do not want to spread our germs to you.
